New Zealand Registered Architects Board (NZRAB) is a statutory entity which registers, reviews and holds architects to account. NZRAB employs a small Wellington based staff, and works closely with panels of registered architects who carry out many of the core functions.
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
This role offers the chance to make a real impact on the architecture profession. Your primary task is to ensure quality delivery of our statutory functions including registration of architects and accreditation of the Schools of Architecture. To enable this, you will oversee operations through both our staff and our panels, support the Board and Minister, and develop strong partnerships. Our key stakeholders include central government, our monitoring agency MBIE, professional bodies, Schools of Architecture, our panel members, as well as the wider building and construction industry.
Reporting directly to the Board you will ensure we meet our strategic goals and financial objectives, and that we maintain our strong engagement across our partners. This leadership position requires proactive governance engagement and a commitment to both upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and issues of environmental sustainability as they apply to architectural practice.

- An understanding of statutory/regulatory functions and experience in implementing and monitoring regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with a Board, and an understanding of the machinery of government.
- A genuine willingness to honour the NZRAB’s commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to environmental sustainability.
