Moana New Zealand is the leading Māori seafood company in Aotearoa, owned by 58 iwi organisations and Te Ohu Kaimoana.
It maximises the Māori fisheries assets owned by iwi and delivers growth in shareholder wealth through maintaining a strong seafood business. Moana New Zealand operates across the entire seafood spectrum from catching, processing and distributing fresh and frozen wet fish products domestically and internationally. It is the country’s leading processor of paua products, operates aquaculture interests specialising in Pacific Oysters and also produces ready to eat meals.
In addition to its own extensive fisheries operations Moana New Zealand is a 50% owner in Sealord Group Ltd. Directly and indirectly Moana New Zealand employs more than 450 people throughout New Zealand.
Moana is governed by a highly skilled and professional board of independent directors appointed by Te Ohu Kaimoana. Board meetings are bi-monthly, in either Auckland or around the motu to include operational site visits. We are seeking to fill two vacancies on this board, ideally with an October/November start date. As well as significant commercial governance experience, we are particularly seeking candidates who have an understanding of the iwi fisheries settlement, senior executive experience, and competence in tikanga me ona reo Māori.
