We are the Sustainable Business Council (SBC) – we work with New Zealand’s most ambitious companies to accelerate Aotearoa’s transition to zero-carbon by 2050. About the Role

In this new role as Head of Sustainability, you will work closely with our Executive Director and Head of Climate Action to deliver on our bold strategy. You will be an active and visible champion for business sustainability.  You will develop and deliver a work programme that is informed by the aspirations of SBC members and represents innovation and current thinking. You will be a source of support and advice for SBC members and be a strong advocate for our mission. In addition, you will manage the Auckland Office of SBC, and will lead (with the support of our Sustainability Adviser) our leadership practice area.

About You

  • An experienced, recognised and inspirational leader in sustainable business.
  • A track record of motivating and supporting high-performing teams.
  • Bring expertise in current best practice, including ESG and other reporting standards.
  • Able to proactively build strong relationships with stakeholders, members and the media.
  • Strategic vision, combined with a willingness to be hands-on as part of a small team, consistent with SBC’s value.
  • Have the executive presence, confidence and skill to deputise for the Executive Director as required.
