- Successful sport and recreation, accommodation and conference business
- Community focussed, world-class facilities
- Seeking 2-3 Trustees with a diverse range of skills and experience
Bruce Pulman Park is a world-class Sport and Recreation Park in Papakura, South Auckland. Our facilities are geared towards community excellence at all levels. The Park is the home of state-of-the-art facilities, including a purpose-built gymnastics and trampoline facility, a multi-purpose indoor arena, outdoor netball courts, sand-based and grass fields and cricket ovals. Our purpose designed sports accommodation venue Pulman Lodge offers international standard accommodation, hosting a variety of sporting codes from grass roots level to international teams participating in local tournaments, events or training camps. Strong partnerships with national and regional sports organisations, Auckland Council, Papakura Local Board, philanthropic organisations, as well as Sport NZ and Aktive Auckland are a key part of our success.
The Park is governed by an independent trust board set up to maintain and manage the park in the best interests of the South Auckland community. The Park continues to grow with future developments planned to provide even more facilities to the community. We are seeking to appoint two to three trustees to join our board. We are particularly looking to increase our board’s gender and cultural diversity in these appointments, and candidates should have strong collaboration and partnership skills.
Previous or existing experience in governance would be preferred, although not essential, as we are seeking a broad range of skills from our Trustees likely gained from within business or community focused organisations. A commitment to “getting things done” and a passion and genuine commitment to the community and kaupapa we serve will be clearly evident in your approach.
The board meets bi-monthly and at this stage there is flexibility around the meeting schedule.
A board fee/stipend is payable. The start date for trustees can be negotiated but ideally towards the end of June.
