As the Tumu Pūmanawa Tangata you will help us review and refresh our HR policies and procedures, and provide hands on support to CEOs, managers, and staff in the areas of recruitment, remuneration, performance management, wellbeing, training and development, employment relations, policies and procedures. You will also help to build the overall capability of our people leaders.
We are looking for an experienced HR practitioner who understands the needs of small fast-growing organisations. Our social and cultural priorities require a degree of flexibility, while also ensuring we have effective systems and processes to guide us. You will need sound knowledge of NZ employment law, be a confident advisor, and ideally have experience in a kaupapa Māori organisation.

You will work across both Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Awa and Ngāti Awa Group Holdings Limited. There are approximately 70 staff across the two organisations, and this is expected to grow. We have a range of exciting new programmes such as Korehāhā Whakahau – the first iwi led Predator Free project, Te Ara Mahi Marine Training Programme and Workforce Development; so there is significant scope for the right leader to join us and grow your career.
