Shore Trust is a small, well-established charitable trust on Auckland’s North Shore. Since 1992, we have supported people with intellectual disabilities to live independent, connected lives providing quality residential care across two homes and walking alongside ten adults as they navigate daily life with dignity, choice, and a real sense of belonging.
We are governed by a committed board that cares deeply about the people we serve. With assets of $3 million and annual turnover of $1.6 million, Shore Trust is in a strong financial position, well-run, stable, and focused on what matters.
Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role
After many years of dedicated service, one of our long-standing trustees is stepping down later this year. We are looking for one new trustee to join our board – someone who will bring fresh energy and a strong People & Culture lens to our governance. The board meet around 7 times a year.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the governance and strategic direction of Shore Trust
- Providing oversight on people-related matters including workforce, employment practices, and organisational culture
- Supporting the organisation to remain well-governed, financially sound, and true to its mission
- Engaging constructively in board deliberations and acting as an ambassador for Shore Trust’s values
Ko wai koe | About you
We are looking for a trustee with a background in People & Culture or Human Resources – someone who can offer thoughtful governance oversight on people matters.
You will also bring:
- Senior experience in HR, P&C, or organisational development
- Governance experience, or a genuine appetite to develop in a board setting
- Sound judgement, personal integrity, and a collaborative approach
- A values-led, community-minded outlook and a genuine connection to the kaupapa of supporting people with disabilities to live well
- Auckland-based (preferred)
