NZ Housing Foundation delivers affordable housing to people trapped in unaffordable or poor-quality rental housing. We’re recognised as a leader in helping working, renting households transition into affordable home-ownership. With deeply held values and a long-standing reputation for good quality, healthy housing, our Household Support Managers are pivotal to the success of our programmes, walking alongside families to make home-ownership a reality.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

We’re looking for a warm, engaging Household Support Manager to work directly with families as they enter the Foundation’s programmes. You’ll prepare, advise and support them on their journey towards home-ownership, right through to the day they move into their new home. You’ll also be out in the community, promoting the Foundation’s programmes and building the relationships that bring new families through the door, whether that’s at a local event, a community group or over a cup of tea.

Ko wai koe | About you

You’ll bring strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help families reach their financial and housing goals. This is a big deal for the whānau you work with, and you’ll partner with them throughout, helping set goals and hit milestones on the way to owning 100% of their home.

We’re keen to hear from people with:

• Experience in budgeting, money management or financial mentoring, whether that’s from a formal financial planning background or from supporting people with their finances in a community setting
• A background in social services, community work or a related sector
• Confidence engaging with groups and building relationships at events and community activities, with a genuine interest in promoting programmes and services
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to connect with a wide range of people
• A good understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, with knowledge of tikanga, te reo or a Pacific language seen as a real advantage

You’ll be highly organised and able to stay focused on the Foundation’s purpose and the people we serve, even while juggling competing priorities.
