About Us

The Centre for Pacific Languages (CPL) operates in New Zealand as a Charitable Trust.  It is the leading Pacific language provider whose objective is to undertake actions, programmes and activities that support generations of Pasifika people to achieve and share educational success in Aotearoa, specifically in relation to the revitalisation, development and maintenance of Pasifika languages, cultures, and identities.

Our Learning Development and Training Lead is a new position designed to champion our academic language suite of programmes with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in Pacific language education and professional development.  In this role, you will take the reins in designing and developing academic language programs while also providing invaluable training for our leaders and professional programmes. Our team is small but mighty, and you’ll be at the forefront of driving educational innovation and excellence.

What you will do:

  • Lead the design and development of academic Pacific language programs, ensuring they are engaging, effective, and aligned with our goals.
  • Facilitate training sessions for our language leaders, equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their roles.
  • Manage student process and performance to ensure the programme consistently delivers excellence.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in learning design, incorporating innovative approaches into our programs.

About You

You will have experience in the tertiary or private training sector, with a strong background in learning design and (ideally) fluency in a Pacific language or Reo Māori.  With the ability to lead and inspire others with outstanding facilitation and communication skills you will have a passion for education and a commitment to empowering others to reach their full potential.
