About Us

The Centre for Pacific Languages (CPL) operates in New Zealand as a Charitable Trust.  It is the leading Pacific language provider whose objective is to undertake actions, programmes and activities that support generations of Pasifika people to achieve and share educational success in Aotearoa, specifically in relation to the revitalisation, development and maintenance of Pasifika languages, cultures, and identities.

In this new position as Operations and Projects Lead, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing key operational areas and leading strategic projects. Reporting directly to our Chief Executive, you will be responsible for driving initiatives related to finance, projects, health and safety (H&S), asset management, and personnel.

You will:

  • Ensure smooth operation of all systems aligning with CPL’s quality standards and maximise business procedure efficiency through continuous improvement.
  • Establish business operations KPIs, conduct quality assessments, and monitor daily operations to address potential issues promptly.
  • Lead the delivery of CPL’s Finance and Projects strategy, manage financial data, and provide solutions for efficiency improvement (working with our accountant).
  • Lead best practices in health and safety (H&S) and asset management, ensuring compliance and securing intellectual property for programs and projects.
  • Champion HR services, manage HR systems, and drive consistency and efficiency across CPL’s processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Act as an ambassador for health and safety, leading best practices and ensuring the implementation of H&S policies and procedures.

About You

The ideal candidate for this role will lead by example with enthusiasm and versatility whilst being resourceful to oversee multiple operational areas.

It is likely you have come from a general business role where you have gained a broad understanding of operational processes, project management and business support (ideally) with fluency in a Pacific language or Reo Māori.
