About Us

The Centre for Pacific Languages (CPL) operates in New Zealand as a Charitable Trust. It is the leading Pacific language provider whose objective is to undertake actions, programmes and activities that support generations of Pasifika people to achieve and share educational success in Aotearoa, specifically in relation to the revitalisation, development and maintenance of Pasifika languages, cultures, and identities.

In this new position as the Marketing and Communications Lead, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing key operational areas and leading strategic projects to support our goals. Reporting directly to our Chief Executive, you will be responsible for driving initiatives related to finance, projects, health and safety (H&S), asset management, and personnel.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • In conjunction with our CEO, you will develop and execute an effective communications strategy with a focus on digital channels.
  • Lead the design of artwork and branding and development, ensuring cohesion and consistency across all platforms ideally with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Maintain the CPL website, create promotional materials, and manage communication with stakeholders to uphold brand integrity.
  • Design and implement digital media strategies including Google ads, social media campaigns, email newsletters and other initiatives.
  • Coordinate promotional events to showcase CPL’s programs and engage with stakeholders.
  • Manage the online merchandise shop, including artwork creation, specification clarification, and communication with external parties.

About You

The ideal candidate for this role will be strategic, creative, and an innovative thinker, alongside a drive for achieving results.  Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop, is preferred.

Demonstrated expertise in social media content creation and website management, coupled with an exceptional ability to produce high-quality content efficiently will be key to the success of the role and ideally fluency in a Pacific language or Reo Māori.
